AREAS DE INTERÉS

En la Universidad Industrial de Santander dirijo el semillero de investigación en Geología Estructural y Tectónica, y apoyo otros de Patrimonio Geológico y de Sistemas Hidrogeológicos. Soy integrante de los grupos de investigación en Geología Básica y Aplicada (GIGBA) y en Recursos Hídricos y Saneamiento Ambiental (GPH). He sido director y evaluador de tesis de Maestría en Geología, Ingeniería de Petróleos, Geofísica e Ingeniería Civil. Me interesa la aplicación de la geología estructural y geomorfología en temas de evolución geológica, neotectónica, hidrogeología, exploración, amenazas geológicas, tensores de esfuerzos, deformación y exhumación en los Andes del Norte, y ambientes kársticos, para lo cual realizamos trabajos conjuntos con colegas de distintos grupos de investigación, universidades y entidades públicas, además, con el apoyo de habitantes de las regiones de Colombia que conocen su entorno mejor que nosotros.
